I like to stay reminded of my past, regardless of how ugly it was. My former self would not believe that I would go from IV crystal user and all-day drinker in 2018 to being a Case Manager for an IOP Clinic today.My former self would not believe I would take a 1.4 GPA in 2018 and turn it into a 3.6. My former self would absolutely not believe that I would apply to the California School of Professional Psychology and get into their PsyD doctorate program.My former self would NEVER think that the power of choice would be back in my life, that in sobriety I would wake up with the CHOICE to pick up or not. I had to use it no matter what years ago and I had no idea one day I would be free from the mental obsession.Lastly, my former self would not believe that there would be meaningful relationships back in my life, that I would have a wife, a daughter, and an entire family that trusts me again.
